To sum up this video in one word. NERDGASM!..
Meh...
So, now that I have upgraded my computers so I can play the Premium Version of EVE, CCP wants me to run off and buy a PS3 or XBox so I can have WiS? I don't think so.
Wake me up when it really comes to the EVE Universe.
CCP should have focused more attention on allowing this end of interaction to be accessible to the rest of the EVE Universe, rather than just the console gamers. Until they do, it's worthless to me as an individual.
Amazing idea for a game, brilliant thinking from CCP.
Critical and total failure in choosing console over PC though, O am very disappointed. I HATE using a controller for fps games. :(
If they've got a version for 360 it can be ported to the PC VERY easily. Don't expect it to stay off the PC forever.
This looks awesome, but it REALLY sucks that they are not also porting DUST to PC/MAC.
This video reminds me of some of those not so common moments in my life where I am able to observe the birth of something that will have a significant impact on a generation of people.
I got goose bumps and more. I think we are witnesses to something really special here and computer game history in the making.
PS: After seeing this video my "Planetary Control" proposal seems a bit on the cheesy side. But then again, 3 years of development is not what I was imagining. Sigh.
Meh indeed.....
I say the more we are, the more things will get complicated. And in EVE, complicated is a good thing!
There's a reason they're not releasing it on PC, and only on consoles...
MMO's are the king of the PC gaming market at the moment, and FPS's are the king of the console market. They're introducing two different games on two different markets in the best possible way, and where both interact with each other. They'll have a symbiotic relationship not only in gameplay, but in marketing each other. Say you're an avid console-only gamer, and you play Dust and love it. Then you might consider trying out EVE as well, and vice-versa. Yes, they could release it on PC, but it need only be released on consoles first, because that's where the money really is for a FPS these days. Overall, this will be a great addition to the EVE universe. I can see them integrating COSMOS into both games, as well as meeting Dust players via Ambulation in stations and such, and giving air support/orbital strikes with atmospheric flight sometime in the future. Many many possibilities could be had with this.

I may not be up for playing yet another fps but the fact remains that CCP is out to keep with innovation. One universe makes EVE online already a unique experience, the idea of adding on to the same universe is simply king.
Fighting for planetary control will back up some alliances being in control at all. And some may lose it all. It's EVE all over again.
